Our speech & debate kids are going to TWO National Tournaments this year 😱 🎉 and they need YOUR help to get there! The National Individual Events Tournament of Champions will happen May 9th-12th in Bellevue, NE. The National Speech and Debate Tournament will take place June 16th-21st in Des Moines, IA. Last Tuesday, SHS Building Trades students attended the Air National Guard Career Fair. There, they learned about the multitude of job and college options offered to part-time service members. The National Guard offers job training as well as free college. Our students are given so many options to build their futures. #WeAreSR3. #SR3Family

Our 3rd graders are using their passing time seriously! These lanyards have math problems and review questions on them to help prep for the upcoming MAP testing. If you see one of them, ask them to share their knowledge! #WeAreSR3

This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and make a positive impact. As we recognize the many talents of our music department, we would be remiss not to give a HUGE shout-out to SHS senior Maximus Maretoli, who was invited to perform with the Southwest American Choral Directors Honor Choir at the Buell Theatre in Denver, CO, this March! #WeAreSR3

SHS Building Trades students recently attended the "I—Build Expo" in Kansas City. This career fair, sponsored by some of the biggest trade employers in the area, encourages students to think of a future in a wide variety of skilled labor. Students had access to all of the major trade unions, could participate in hands-on learning, and talked to pros about their jobs. Our students are shown many paths for their futures. #WeAreSR3 #SR3Family

Congratulations to the Savannah High School Bands on fantastic performances this week at the MSHSAA State Large Ensemble Contest! The Concert Band, under the direction of Austin Bressman, received a rating of "Exemplary", which is a Silver rating. The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Jennifer Prather, received a rating of "Superior" which is a Gold rating. Both groups performed for four adjudicators at Platte County High School on Tuesday, April 2, after a 10-day break from rehearsals due to Spring Break! Way to go, SHS Bands! #WeAreSR3
