Summer School 2020
How’s this going to work? A guide to answering all of your summer school questions.
SR3 district administration has been working hand in hand with the Andrew County Health Department to ensure the health of our students and staff during summer school is a top priority. Along with capping class sizes to accommodate social distancing, here are few other things we are doing to control the spread of germs.
Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 31
From 7:30-3:30 each day
Minne Cline Elementary, John Glenn Elementary, & SMS
No SACC
Entering the Building
A daily entrance ticket will be required from every student and staff member before entering the building or boarding a transfer bus. A copy of this form has been attached to the bottom of this letter. Students who can not successfully complete the entrance ticket or are ill will not be allowed at summer school until they are symptom-free for 72 hours. A parent signature is required on every form. Please note that parents and guardians will not be allowed into the building.
Supplies
In an effort to prevent the spread of germs we are asking students to bring their own supplies for summer school.
K-5
Please have all supplies in a ziplock bag with your child’s name on it.
1 box of 16 crayons
1 box of 12 colored pencils
2 sharpened pencils
4 glue sticks
1 eraser
1 pair of scissors
SMS
Clear (see-through) water bottle
Sick Kids
Students who are sick will not be allowed to attend summer school. Chamber Bucks and other attendance based rewards will not be utilized during summer school to encourage students who are not feeling well to stay home. If a student gets sick while they are at school parents will be called immediately to pick up their child. Students are not allowed to return to school until they are symptom-free for 72 hours. If a student is showing symptoms of COVID-19 a doctor’s note may be required before they can return.
Attendance
While we are not offering Chamber Bucks this year, consistent attendance is encouraged. We have many families on a waitlist, who are hoping to get their child into Summer School. If a student misses more than 3 days (non-health related) they will be dropped from the Summer School roster.
Lunch
To comply with social distancing guidelines lunch will be served in each classroom. Students are allowed to bring lunch from home.
Misc.
Masks or face coverings can be worn at your discretion but will not be required or provided.
Teachers will move from classroom to classroom rather than whole groups of students moving classrooms

Students will be encouraged to practice good hygiene. Handwashing breaks will be scheduled regularly.
Building custodial staff will continue to clean and disinfect classrooms regularly
