PUBLIC NOTICE: July 14th Board of Education Meeting


The Savannah RIII School Board will hold its regular, monthly business meeting on Tuesday, July 14th at 7 p.m. in the Savannah High School gymnasium.  A link to the published agenda can be found here.  

The Board of Education has been contacted by several community members wishing to speak at the meeting on Tuesday evening.  Since a large crowd is anticipated and in order to allow for proper social distancing, the meeting has been moved from its usual location at the District Office to the Savannah High School gymnasium. 

A note for those wishing to speak about changing the Savannah R3 Savage Mascot: 

While the Board is always interested in hearing from the community, it is important to note that issues brought before the Board through public comment will not be immediately discussed per Board Policy BDDH-1.  Concerns about the mascot will not be addressed by the Board of Education on Tuesday, July 14th.  

Anyone wishing to speak at the Board meeting should submit a comment card the night of the meeting stating which item already on the existing agenda they would like to discuss. Visitors will be allowed the floor for 3 minutes. 

The President of the Board has the authority to regulate and limit public participation if necessary.  No hateful, disrespectful, or rude comments will be tolerated.  

COVID-19 Considerations:

Please enter the High School through the main entrance and sign in before entering the gym.  Masks are not required but are highly encouraged.  Please remain at least 6 feet away from other community members, unless they live in your household.  If you are ill, show symptoms of COVID-19, or believe you have been previously exposed to the virus, we ask that you stay home.
